What we ask for, and why

To open a guide or a printable pack, we ask for an email address. Your name, phone number, state and a short note about where you are in this are optional, and the guide opens whether or not you fill them in.

What it is used for. Sending you the guide and the printable version. Telling you when the guidance behind it changes, which on this subject it does: professional guidance is revised, statutes are amended, and figures are restated. A page you read once is worth less than a page you hear about again when it is updated.

What it is not used for. We do not sell it. We do not rent it. We do not share it with any law firm, any provider or any other organisation. There is no referral arrangement behind this site, and adding one would change what the site is.

What is stored. What you typed, the page you were on when you filled the form in, the site that sent you here if there was one, and the date. Nothing else.

Unsubscribing. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also ask us to delete your record entirely through the corrections page, and we will.

What never sits behind a form. Every condition page, every event page, every state page, the glossary and all eighteen tools. If you are in hospital tonight and need to know what a Sarnat stage is or how to ask for the monitoring strips, none of that asks you for anything.

What the tools do with what you type

Nothing leaves your device.

The records request builder builds the letters on your computer. The letters are never sent anywhere.

The delivery timeline builder, the milestone tracker, the therapy tracker and the IEP prep tool work the same way.

The state lookups use a small data file that is already on your device once the page loads. Choosing a state does not send a request anywhere.

Nothing you type into a tool is transmitted, logged or stored on any server. The tools are static files running on your device. The only endpoint on this site is the one behind the guide form, and no tool can reach it: the build fails if a tool page so much as loads the script that talks to it.

Saving, and how to delete it

Four tools offer to save your work: the delivery timeline, the therapy tracker, the IEP prep tool and, where you choose it, anything else marked as saving.

If you press Save, the tool writes a copy into your own browser's storage, on that device only.

It never leaves the device. Not to us, not to anyone.

Nobody else can read it, unless they use that browser on that device.

You can delete it with the Delete button on the tool, or by clearing your browser data.

It can disappear on its own, if you use private browsing, clear your browser, or switch device. If something matters, print it.

Nothing saves unless you press the button.

How to check all of this yourself

You do not have to take our word for it.

Turn off your internet connection. Every tool on this site still works, because everything runs on your device.

Open your browser's network tab and use a tool. Nothing is sent while you type. Then fill in a guide form and you will see exactly one request, to this site's own address, carrying only what you typed.

Look at the page source. There is no analytics script, no tag manager and no third-party script of any kind.

The site ships a content security policy that permits connections to this site and nowhere else. Even if a mistake were made in the code, the browser would block a request to anywhere but here.

The build refuses to publish a tool that could send anything. Every release is checked automatically for every way a browser can transmit data, and a tool page that loads the one permitted script fails the build.

What the hosting provider sees

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and like any web host it processes the technical information needed to serve a page: your IP address and your browser type, in ordinary server logs.

That is standard for any website you visit and it is not something this site collects, uses, or has access to for any purpose of its own.

We do not set cookies. We do not run advertising or tracking scripts. There is nothing on this site that follows you anywhere.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to government agencies, professional bodies and national organizations, because that is where the underlying material is published.

Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy. This site has no control over what they do and does not receive anything back from them.

Outbound links carry no tracking parameters.

Children

This site is written for parents and other adults. The form is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted the form, tell us through the corrections page and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the change will be described here and the last-reviewed date at the bottom of this page will be updated.

If what we collect ever changes, that will be stated at the top of this page in plain words, not buried in a paragraph.
